Why should we hire a professional web designer or use a template builder?

Many ministries have talented members who can program websites, however SKWD has a team dedicated people to providing websites that do not just look good but work well. 

Can you have email addresses that include your domain name (ministry name)?

The simple answer is yes. Example, PastorJon@Your-Ministry-Name.com.

Do you only design ministry/non-profit websites?

No! Our main emphasis is on the creation of ministry websites, but we also design and program non-profit and small business sites.

Can we use our own domain or do we have to get a new one?

We'll be happy to work with your existing domain or help you register a new one. There is an additional one-time $50 fee to transfer an existing domain name.

Why are your website packages so inexpensive?

Bottom line, we do this for God. We know from experience balancing church and ministry budgets is difficult so we try to offers sites as cheaply as possible without sacrificing quality, in anyway.

Will my site work on all the major browsers?

All of our sites are tested and designed to work on the major browsers.

Custom Website FAQ's

What are the benefits of a a custom web site?

SKWD's development team works with your ministry to create a unique web page design and content management systems. Our custom content management system is so simple that just about anyone can use it. Custom page layouts and web page design allow the site look and feel to be created around your audience and ministry. We have static sites (no content management system) that start at $299.99.

How much does web site development custom content managment and integration with databases cost?

We approach each web design individually. Our policy is to offer the best possible website development at the best possible price.  We customize each project to meet your budgetary requirements. We provide you with a written proposal explaining every cost before any work is begun. There are no surprises!

After the web site is created, who keeps it current?

SKWD's ministry design team will integrate a database with your site that will allow you to update information through maintenance screens. Information which is date sensitive will post automatically to your web site. Items that can be updated by the ministry include banners, calendars, prayer lists, pictures, sermons, message areas, etc. More infrequent updating can be done by SKWD's staff.

How much control will we have over the look and feel of the website design?

Who will host our web page once it is created?

SKWD has highly affordable hosting/management services. However, you can host your site anywhere. SKWD will even help you set the website up on your own server if that turns out to be more cost effective for you.

If you desire your own photo to be placed on the site, will it be scanned in or
does it have to be digital?

SKWD's web page designers prefer that pictures be sent to us in a digital format. We can use almost every type of digital camera photo format. If your pictures are not available in this form, we can scan them in.

How long does it take to get a site up?

This depends upon several factors. The type and size of the site greatly effect the time required. How quickly we receive the needed information is one of the factors that depends largely on you and your staff. How busy we are when you decided to have us start your project also effects timing. Right now the wait is about 2-3 weeks for us to start your project, and most sites take between 2 and 4 weeks to complete.

Can you redesign part of our website or just one page?

The answer is yes and no. SKWD will do everything possible to work with ministries where they are. Technology sometimes limits our designers ability to do that. If a design is outdated asthetically or technologically, it is usually easier to start over from the ground up. However, our team has had  great success in the past updating and adding additional content to existing websites.

Template Builder (Radius Web Tools) Website FAQ's

What are the benefits of a template builder site?

You get complete control over you content, forever! However, keeping the site update takes a bit more computer skill then SKWD custom content management systems.

How long does it take to get a site up?

When you order your site, it will be fully functional and ready for editing within minutes. That means you'll be able to receive site visitors within about five or ten minutes of placing your order.

Can I change my own navigation menus?

Yes you can! Add new menu items, remove old menu items, or simply rearrange the order of existing menu items. And-just as you'd expect-no programming skills are required. Radius' menu editing tools is design for simple use by church staff and volunteers.

Can I host my website myself or use the church's server?

Nope, sorry. Radius is a hosted service. This means that your site must reside on our servers to access the features of Radius.

Can I change my design later on?

Yes. We'll be happy to change your design in the future to another design from our library for half of the setup fee. All sites are also easily upgradeable to fully-custom designs.

Are these designs just stock templates?

Good question. Any design that is used by a content management software (CMS) like Radius can rightly be called a "template." This is because Radius dynamically generates your site pages on demand. When a site visitor asks to see your "About Us" page, Radius pulls together the site content you've created as well as the template (the visual design and general layout instructions) and gives them to your site visitor's web browser to show your site visitor a complete web page. So, in this sense all designs are templates whether they come from the Design Library or are designed from scratch. Of course, even our library designs are personalized with your logo and colors.
